Men’s Crew is heading down (alongside the women’s team) to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for our annual training trip before the racing season starts in April. We row on the Intracoastal Waterway, launching from the Briarcliffe R.V. Park, where we live and train for two weeks. As our season lasts little more than a month, the trip in South Carolina is essential – we finally put all the long hours of training we’ve been doing over the winter into moving a very long boat very fast. We will usually practice 2-3 times per day, spending the remainder of the time resting and enjoying a break from March in Williamstown. Fierce rowing, games of knock out and the ever-popular mini-golfing will be the activities du jour on our trip to the sunny South this year.
